We were tasked by Spotify to create bespoke playlist art and brand for their new playlist WIRE, which celebrates post-punk, alt-rock, and moody indie rock.
The chosen route "GAFFER TAPE" is inspired by the live music scene, and uses Gaffer Tape to piece chaotic design elements together. It is an Ode to the 'Roadie', for whom the gaffer tape roll is ever present and when sh!t breaks, you gaffer it up, carry on and make some noise. Punk-esque, 'Sharpie' coloured iconography is hand drawn onto the gaffer tape to help build the brand and connect with post punk, anti-establishment attitude that sums up the genre and its fans alike.
