In 2020, the eyes of the world turned to Ghislaine Maxwell, the close friend, confidante and alleged enabler to billionaire paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein. Ghislaine was at the centre of a sordid story of sex trafficking and abuse that spanned private islands, penthouses and palaces.
Filmed and edited simultaneously with one of the most eagerly awaited criminal trials in recent years, this revelatory documentary uncovers the truth about Ghislaine, her relationships with Epstein and Prince Andrew, and her central role in one of the most notorious scandals of modern history.
One of the main creative challenges was to portray this unique ‘as it happens’ point of view of the trial, Ghislaine’s guilt and give a voice to the victims.

A PICTURE PAINTS A THOUSAND WORDS
Our focus for the documentary key art narrowed as we saw Jane Rosenberg’s courtroom sketches being released during the trial. We knew that this would be the perfect way to depict  the ‘real-time’ POV of the documentary.
We were drawn to one of Rosenberg’s sketches in particular when released. A drawing of Ghislaine drawing Rosenberg, as if stuck in a surreal time loop, reminiscent of MC Escher’s hands drawing hands. When the sketch went viral across social media, it was at this moment we knew we had found our creative jackpot.
We took inspiration from Rosenberg’s sketches as a basis for our key art as we aimed to depict Ghislaine, free from remorse, in those final moments before her guilty verdict.
